Duty-free retail
Retail operations on the approach to Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, Narita
We plan to operate a shop on the approach to Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, a destination popular on TripAdvisor and Instagram. In 2017, the Japan Tourism Agency’s Narita Transit Program began offering tours of the temple for travellers waiting for connecting flights. Tour participation and inbound visitor numbers have grown, prompting preparations for a shop designed to promote and sell Japanese products.
The planned range includes products selected through research into export trends among our logistics customers, as well as goods made for overseas markets. We intend to offer health foods, alcoholic beverages, everyday essentials, pop-culture merchandise, hobby items and more.

Sales representation in China
Event sales
Exhibiting at events across China
Japanese products have an established international reputation for safety and performance. Shopping by Chinese visitors to Japan has helped spread word-of-mouth recommendations, while the emergence of social buyers, known as daigou, has brought attention to an even wider range of products.
We have brought together Japanese products and actively exhibited at trade fairs in China. We can also provide promotion and sales representation through our network of Chinese partners.
Our exhibition experience has helped us grow our Chinese customer base. We plan to expand the range of products we handle and continue working on the contracts and sales qualifications required for product sales.

Original product development
Imports from China
Sales through major Japanese e-commerce platforms
Although China’s economy is sometimes reported to be slowing, its capabilities as a global manufacturing centre remain strong. Leading companies around the world continue to manufacture a vast range of products there. Producing goods in China and importing them for sale is also a familiar business model in Japan, with considerable room for further development.
Using our own network, we aim to build a system that delivers products to end users in Japan. This includes original product development and manufacturing, lower distribution costs, and more efficient inspection, packing, assembly and other processes.

Retail for overseas markets
Cross-border e-commerce
Developing an e-commerce platform for China
Sales through social media became a common way for customers in China to access Japanese products more easily. However, changes to China’s e-commerce legislation in January 2019 meant that individuals could no longer continue selling to one another through electronic payments in the same way.
We are therefore working on an e-commerce platform and logistics services that respond to this legislation. Our goal is to operate an accessible marketplace with a new store format that benefits everyone from individual customers to social buyers.
